An almond pie crust topped with sweet cinnamon apple slices.
Place the cooked apple slices on the baked pie crust.
Ingredients
90g (1 cup) almonds
60g (1/2 cup) all-purpose flour
2 tbsp sugar, divided
1/2 tsp salt
4 tbsp (1/2 stick) margarine or butter, melted
2-3 apples, sliced
1 tsp cinnamon
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350 F. Grease a 9-inch pie dish.
Pulse the almonds in a food processor to create a fine meal. Add the flour, 1 tbsp of the sugar, and the salt. Pulse to combine.
Add the melted butter and mix. Spread the dough on the bottom of a pie pan.
Bake the crust for 15-20 minutes or until lightly brown.
Meanwhile, toss the apple slices with the remaining 1 tbsp sugar and cinnamon. Cook them in a frying pan over medium heat until tender, about 5-10 minutes.
Remove the apple slices from the heat and carefully arrange them over the baked pie crust before serving.
