Apple Almond Tart

An almond pie crust topped with sweet cinnamon apple slices.










Place the cooked apple slices on the baked pie crust.










Ingredients

  • 90g (1 cup) almonds

  • 60g (1/2 cup) all-purpose flour

  • 2 tbsp sugar, divided

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 4 tbsp (1/2 stick) margarine or butter, melted

  • 2-3 apples, sliced

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F. Grease a 9-inch pie dish.

  2. Pulse the almonds in a food processor to create a fine meal. Add the flour, 1 tbsp of the sugar, and the salt. Pulse to combine.

  3. Add the melted butter and mix. Spread the dough on the bottom of a pie pan.

  4. Bake the crust for 15-20 minutes or until lightly brown.

  5. Meanwhile, toss the apple slices with the remaining 1 tbsp sugar and cinnamon. Cook them in a frying pan over medium heat until tender, about 5-10 minutes.

  6. Remove the apple slices from the heat and carefully arrange them over the baked pie crust before serving.
